Over the years I've seen a lot of people request that all their posts be removed. Let me be clear, anything you post on this forum is available to the public. It can be found through search engines and all sorts of other Web crawlers. These engines and spiders not only index the content in the forum but they also store it in their cache. All this to say that even if a post is removed it will STILL appear in search results due to it being in the search engine cache. Secondly, the Terms of Service states the following: 8. You should always view the online community area as a public meeting place. To the extent possible, all conversations are the property of Salem Web Network. By participating you have granted Salem Web Network the license to use them for any purpose whatsoever. Isn't it MY post? Yes, it is your post. But it also belongs to the Forum and as such is the property of Salem Web Network. Can I copy and paste my post somewhere else? Yes, as such it is your post. Will you delete all my posts? No Why? One reason is that is can cause a disruption to the flow of conversation in a thread. People are participating in good faith that their thread of conversation will be as undisturbed as possible. When you start wiping out posts it can leave for a very disjointed conversation. We do not want that. Our members do not want that. Now there are plenty of other reasons too. However, the point I want to make is that if you are going to be embarrassed by something you say in Forums, don't post it. If you are going to throw a tantrum and leave the forum and think that you can "take your ball with you" then no. The ball belongs to the Forum. If you don't want to play then we'll understand. We'll miss you but ultimately we want to provide a community where everyone can engage in discussion on topics and be treated with respect and as adults. Please don't ask us to erase all your posts. Please feel free to post your questions, comments, or concerns for a short time. Eventually, this thread will be closed and made an FAQ.

Is this the right thread to discuss restoring previously deleted posts? No, the topic of this thread has to do with members who ask to have some or all their posts deleted.

Don't ever post or say anything on the Web that you don't want your stalker, friend, fiancé, teacher, classmate, band member, employer, employee, church, deacon, pastor, spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, significant other, child, roommate, teammate, coach, counselor, lawyer, judge, Police, CIA, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, or a carpenter born in a stable to see.

I just wish I could have remembered the not asking for a post to be deleted. Instead i got a quiet upseting email for an admin and they gave me this link and an email which no one responded to. I wanted to reply back to the one sending me the email but they said I could not and so that left me feeling stupid. I, when I first started on here several years ago remember this not being an issue. Anyway, a gentle anwser and even a response would be better for admins to use rather than saying do not contact me about this.

it's the carpenter born in a stable that I am most afraid of.
