LOL, I'm not even sure how this works. Is this like a mini-blog, but with talking to people back and forth? Do I just share about my life in it, stuff like that?

Sounds like a plan. Welcome to PFY.

If you read some of the other threads in this folder you will get an idea of what goes on.

These are basicaly no-topic chat threads.

Thanks! I've actually read quite a bit of Bride 48's thread, but I still wasn't sure.

I highly recommend that you go over to Southern Gospel and post in the Ask Kerrlaw Anything thread.

In PFY the threads go on indefinitely, as you can see by some of the high post counts. In other folders the chat threads are under different rules and have to start over every month or every 100 pages, whichever comes first.

Well, I might go check it out, but not in lieu of doing this. I've wanted a PFY thread forever. You wasn't tryin' get rid of me, wuz ya?

Something really cool just happened. I am my handicapped sister's caretaker. At 28, she is at a 4 month level. So, she'll laugh and shake a rattle, and things like that, but not much more. Well, tonight, I was putting her in her bed, and just after I'd laid her down, just as I was putting the metal bar in the slots, she grabbed it, and pulled it toward her. I told her to give it back, and she laughed at me really hard. I was so excited!!!!!!! She was making a joke with me!!!!!!! I never thought she had that capacity.

That is very cool!

It's nice to see someone up late.

Thanks, on both counts. I am a bona fide night owl. Much to my father's chagrin, who named my middle name Dawn because he loves the mornings.

Yay, another one! I am usually on here long after everyone else has gone to bed, toggling through the forums just to see if someone . . . anyone . . . has posted in the past hour!

Another cool thing happened with my sister today. I left for the gym, and a dear lady from church stayed with her so I could go. When I came back and said "Hi, Rachel," to my sister, she laughed and laughed, and the lady who stayed with her said she hadn't laughed the whole time she was gone. So she was happy I was home.

Wow! So cool! So was this:

How exciting for you! And bless you for caring for her. That's not an easy job.

PFY threads are, like you said, kind of like a blog where people can respond. At least that's how I've treated mine. The blogs here in CW are so non-interactive. But, as Kerrlaw said, they are also free-topic chat threads. They're also a great way for people to keep track of you and what's happening in your life.

How wonderful that your sister is showing signs of recognizing you, and that she played with you! Has she done stuff like that before?

Welcome to PFY. Hope you'll enjoy it. I've actually made a few friends through PFY threads, so I appreciate them. You're getting a good variety of visitors, so I hope they'll all stick. People come and go on these threads; the trick is not to get discouraged during the "quiet" times.

The recognition thing yes, but the joke/game thing is totally new.

Thanks humble. I also wanted to clarify that getting to the gym isn't usually a problem, my mom and dad are out of town for 2 weeks.

Well you visited the house so I thought I would drop in and say welcome to PFY. Just a bunch of nuts around here but we do have fun.

You see having a PFY thread ain't all that hard...just wait until some insanity happens.

Has anyone around here clicked on my siggy line?

I LOVE that song, and I love the handbells, and I love children's choirs..the whole combination gave me goosebumps.
