I hope to watch more of it this year. I guess South Florida is my home team. I also have friends who like the Gators so I root for them as well. And Boston College because I grew up in New Hampshire (UNH too but they're not with the big boys).

Looking forward to August 30, three day weekend and Florida is playing Hawaii. Hawaii usually fields a good squad (although no Colt Brennan this year). I'm hoping its a good one.

Nothing better than those Saturday afternoons with up to five games to choose from (at the same time). And I'm not even counting the PPV options (that I do not avail myself of).

This is going to haunt me because last year I went through a depressing last half and was even run out of church by members one week because of that losing streak.

It even destroyed the local radio station's advertising and now we don't even have a local radio broadcast (even though it's a stone's throw away) while the opposition, which is very far, has a local affiliate. They have said if the enemy station is dominant, their Air America station will outrank the local Sean Hannity station, and crush them in the ratings that nobody will want to advertise with Hannity locally.

It also made me feel like I wanted to take my own life and that I lost my car. The prediction I read makes me feel like I'm going to lose my car again. The worst part was I was tossed out of church to avoid being harassed to the point I was forced to leave a good school in middle school for a mediocre one, something I regret today shouldn't have happened (the middle school harassment was disgusting, and I cannot say what happened because it's extremely graphic).

The Pain of Losing

Or something else that haunted me for worse . . . after the long losing streak of nearly two years that started before graduation and ended after it, I was starting to be depressed while everyone else had parties that I was treated like a second-class citizen. I even wanted to shut the power down and have our Thanksgiving dinner rot in anger. My late father once said my worst nightmare is that I cannot afford to lose -- and if you've seen modern shows like Pinks, you will know why!

I'll never forget wanting wins that I started treating big-money seven-figure game shows (they were big at the time) as crucial shows since I hadn't seen victories so I wanted to watch those shows. And the worst moment of those was a Chuck Woolery game. I'll never forget being so desperate to see someone win something after sitting through 21 losses that I started listening to game shows seriously.

It was a multi-generational family viewing. The question that haunts me eight years to this day was the most popular breeds of dogs. The team had three of the four correct and Chuck gave them the chance to buy out the question and take the "sure thing" instead of going for the final question. A loss means bankruptcy. They refused. I turned out the lights (it's something I love when watching big-money quizzes). Hand on the screen because I've wanted to watch winning and I've starved there.

Wrong answer, I throw my glasses on the screen and just go angry, and even rush to the power box to shut the lights out.

I'm scared I'm being told this might just be me again. In the modern Serena and Bobby Show, I might be wanting to take my own life. In the Rich Christensen world, I'd lose my car. Or in the realm of German television network RTL, the losing horns.

It just scares me the predictions will mean I might lose my car.

A great intersectional rivalry that goes back at least 40 years. Nearly every game has been close.

Clemson Tigers.

I believe we could go anywhere from 8-4 to 12-0 before post season play. We seem to always win and lose games we aren't supposed to. I believe we will be favored in every game this year; however, I don't expect to win them all. I am expecting a 10-2 season though. I am not sure if that will be good enough for the ACC title game because the 2 losses could come from Wake Forest and Florida State which are both in Clemson's division. Going into the season, it seems like VA. Tech and UNC are the best shots to win the other division.

I can't wait to see us play Alabama in the GA. Dome on Saturday. I'm excited to be starting the year with a quality opponent although I am upset we have 2 'cupcakes' on the schedule over the next few weeks. With some of the competition in the ACC lately, you can add more to the 'cupcake' list.

If Clemson does not win the ACC this year, I'm not sure when we will. It seems like most of the ACC teams are down this year except for Clemson and Wake Forest. Our offensive line will be one of our weakest components. I hope they can open enough holes for Davis and Spiller and give Harper enough time to throw the ball.

I'm taking 8-4 at this point.

Sorry. When the color guy starts yapping about your lack of heart and defeatest body language you're in trouble. Now they have a few creampuffs to build some momentum so they can turn this around.

Alabama had the most impressive win of the day (because of the quality of their opposition). Other impressive wins were Bowling Green, Utah, USC, Missouri (though that D has to be a source of stress for fans), East Carolina and Florida. Many of the other big routs were against "creampuffs".

Cal could have a winning season, and a minor bowl berth. I predict 7-5...

The Vols-Bruins game is close for now, but UCLA is losing some starters to injuries.

Well, I was at the absolute stomping that the Tide put on my Tigers. This was one of the worst games I've ever seen them play, and now I wish I stayed home to watch it. Alabama really took it to Clemson. The Tigers D couldn't get off the field and the O couldn't stay on.

I among others fell for all the pre-season hype on the Tigers. We can still rebound from this. Clemson won't be tested again until they play Wake Forest who looked impressive against Baylor.

Clemson has a lot of skill on offense. Too bad the O-line isn't giving the skill players enough time or holes to do anything. Regardless, I will continue rooting for the Tigers! I'm not ready to write the season off yet.

Well, kd, you figured that one out in the Peach Bowl (sorry, but it will always be that for me) in January. I guess Clemson needs to not play any team from Alabama in the Ga. Dome.

Even with the outcome, I am glad we played Alabama instead of another 'cupcake'. We play enough of those including the next 4 games starting Saturday. I only wish Clemson could have made the game competitive. It was cool interacting with some Bama fans before and during the game.

Hey, got a question for all you TV experts out there. I've got a heavy decision right now whether to stay w/ Dish Network or bail out & go w/ Charter in order to get my local channels. But, I was wondering this one thing. Anyone who is familiar w/ the Atlanta affiliate for NBC, will they pick up Raycom Media? Need to know before Saturday for the SEC game. Thanks. kd
