Paul, I like that Oaks tune. The recording on the Performance album is great! I'd say HS is pretty much a standard now, however, it's still a good tune, and hasn't been rerecorded recently, so I'd say go for it, I bet Ed would do well with it.

Wes...thanks for the input.
I don't know if Ed even likes the song...but it sounds right for him.
...to me...IMHO

I think of HS as a Florida Boys song, too, but Daddy Paul sure did a good job on the Dixie Echoes' project!

Speaking of the Florida Boys and songs to recommend, do you know the Florida Boys' song "One Splendid Day" (ca. 1984)? I'd love to hear someone do that song - also "Paid in Full" from the same album.

I Find No Fault in Him.......

Little is Much If God Is In It......

Couple of powerful songs, the Prophets sure have the tenor to pull it off.

Don't know the first tune you mentioned. PAID IN FULL is good...if it's the one I'm thinking of....really love all of the DE's LIVE project.

We have developed an arr of LITTLE IS MUCH...of course it features Bill on both verses. Still tweaking. Fun to sing. Should work well.

IFNF is on the short list for sure. What a great song. Bill sang the original SG cut of the tune...for The Stamps.

Songs we added at our last rhs for our TV shoot (that I did not mention at my blog post, "24 HOURS") are:

LITTLE IS MUCH
SHELTERED IN THE ARMS OF GOD &
MANSION OVER THE HILLTOP

Keep the suggestions coming!

Well, both of them feature Rick Busby - I believe he's a fellow Arkansan you at least know of (and I think you might have said you know him, too).

Paid in Full's chorus goes like this:

"Paid in full
I've done the work I came to do
Paid in full
I've paid love's final price for you
When all hell tries you that you'll never win
Just remember that the debt for your sin
Is paid in full"

Yep. That's the tune. I have heard Rick do it as a soloist, but not the FB's.
PRISM also has a nice choral arr of it as well. Good song!

Rick is a good friend and fellow Baptist minister from right here in AR.
I wonder if he is on the list over on the Razorback thread?
Surely he is.

Yes, I believe he's on that list. I think it's probably his most remembered song from his Florida Boys years, so I'm not surprised he's done it since.

Sorry I have been away from the forums so long. It's been a pretty hard week for Kathy and me.

#1. Our 12 year-old Rottweiler, Butkus, passed away somewhat suddenly at 10:20am this past Tuesday - after becoming ill Monday evening. We were in the midst of a Revival at our church. After the Revival ended Wednesday night...Kathy and I felt the full force of our grief over OUR loss. If you are a pet-lover, you might want to read the article about Butkus that I posted at my blog HERE.

#2. One of our recent new converts to the Lord (and our church) fell ill on Thursday and passed away on Saturday afternoon. We will conduct her memorial and graveside service THIS Tuesday morning.

#3. A few hours later, Ann Presley, the news reporter for KATV (abc) in Little Rock, that was brutally assaulted in her home a few days ago, died from multiple complications of her horrific injuries. Ann was a co-worker and friend to our eldest son. Yes...she is the beautiful blonde who has had her story all over the National news channels.

#4. Today our church grieved our losses and celebrated Heaven's gains! Then, tonite, Kathy and I launched a REVIVAL (that we are leading) in Jacksonville, AR...our beloved ARC Choir will join us for a Concert there on Tuesday evening (after we have conducted June's funeral services).

Please pray for us. Jesus Is Lord!
PJ

PS: early Wednesday morning, I will drive to Nashville for TV rehearsals with The Prophets. We will begin working on some of the songs you suggested.

We'll keep your family and your church family in our prayers as you go through this time of many trials. God will always be with you.

I don't know how people who don't know the Lord get thru these tough times.

Dear Paul, my heart goes out to you. I know the pain of losing a beloved pet, it's like a family member. God Bless you and your wife, and my prayers go out to you both.

There's nothing like the companionship of a good dog. Sometimes folks don't understand the loss of "man's best friend" until they've been there.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hey ya'll...how bout some Good news tonite?

Eddie Crook celebrated his 67th Birthday...earlier this evening...Oct 28.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDDIE! God bless you with many more. I am proud to call you my friend.

Eddie lurks here often...post's here on occasion...if you want to leave him a message, he will get it in this thread.

Monday was also a special day for EC and Mrs Janice. They participated in celebrating their daughter's 25th Wedding Anniversary.

Sorry I did not post this earlier. Just got in from my REVIVAL service.
Stayed late counseling and working on the stage and sound for Tuesday night's concert with the ARKANSAS REVIVAL CENTER CHOIR.

Tonite I preached from Romans 1:16 and sang duets with one of the tenors from my choir. I played for us and We did SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, THERE'S NOTHING IN THIS HEART OF MINE (but Praise for the Lord), THROUGH IT ALL & HOW GREAT THOU ART...then I sang PRECIOUS LORD TAKE MY HAND to end the service. Sweet time in the Spirit.

They did indeed. I haven't heard it in a whole but it is on the first album they recorded. Self titled. I believe Jake and Gary McSpadden took turns carring the lead part. It is good.
